The Saudi Center for Commercial Arbitration (SCCA) participated in Dubai Arbitration Week. It was attended by international arbitration centers, business institutions and law firms interested in the commercial arbitration industry in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia, local and international law firms, and luminary arbitrators and academics.
As part of its regional and international outreach, the SCCA attended various events and spoke at a high-profile event organized by Eversheds Sutherland in cooperation with Corporate Counsel Association in the Middle East. The well-attended event featured updates on legal developments in the UAE and Saudi Arabia (the latter presented by SCCA’s Chief of ADR, Christian P. Alberti), followed by a presentation on “Using AI and tech to improve arbitration.” The program ended with a lively panel discussion and Q&A session on “trends in managing and controlling the arbitral process in Middle East arbitration” in which Chris shared his views on the status of the commercial arbitration industry in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the intensive efforts exerted by the SCCA to provide a leading model of ADR services to the business sector within a well-governed institutional framework. In addition, the SCCA also acted as a supporting sponsor of the 6th Annual GAR Live event later that week.
SCCA’s visit to Dubai underscores its commitment to enhance regional communication among arbitral institutions and stakeholders in the arbitration industry. The SCCA also wishes to foster the exchange of experiences and knowledge between the stakeholders in the Gulf region. The SCCA is the leading arbitral institution in Saudi Arabia and seeks to be a standard reference and local and regional strategic partner for Saudi Arabia and beyond.
Dubai Arbitration Week is a key event held every year in the United Arab Emirates. It concerned with reviewing the latest developments and updates of the regional and international commercial arbitration industry and relevant laws and their contribution to the development of the business environment.
