Communications Commission and SCCA hold specialized workshop

The Saudi Center for Commercial Arbitration (SCCA) participated in a Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) workshop in August 2021 to exchange experiences and offer the telecommunications, IT, and mail sector alternative solutions to settle disputes and overcome difficulties. SCCA seeks to enhance cooperation with the sector to further the work they have in common and create a competitive and attractive business environment.
The workshop was attended by SCCA CEO Dr. Hamed Bin Hassan Merah and the Deputy Governor Mr. Abdullah Bin Ali Al-Zahrani of the User Protection Sector. The two organizations share experience and knowledge, as well as methods of relationship-building to develop business, benefit from the SCCA’s ADR services, and employ them as required. The two organizations also are pursuing integration through sharing the SCCA’s experiences and practices, and through making use of quality standards in arbitration and mediation.
The SCCA’s presentation at the workshop included an introduction to SCCA and its various services. It highlighted the SCCA’s products arbitration and mediation services, and the positive impact for businesses when they seek institutional arbitration conducted in accordance with the highest standards. The presentation also covered the SCCA’s recently launched Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) service, which is flexible and ensures fast and cost-efficient resolution of disputes.
The workshop featured a lively discussion about ways of putting ADR to use among telecommunications and mail service providers, and it served as a forum for sharing and learning from relevant experiences, improving operations, searching for effective solutions to empower the telecommunications, IT, and mail sector, and comparing the experiences of similar parties in pursuit of best practices.
