Andrews visited the recently launched Saudi Center for Commercial Arbitration on Tuesday November 1st, 2016. The SCCA offers all those doing business in the Kingdom with a vital service: the ability to quickly and cost-effectively resolve any business disputes through arbitration and/or mediation rather than resorting to traditional litigation in the courts, whether in the Kingdom or elsewhere. Deputy Secretary Andrews and his team were delighted to learn that these important services are now available for American and other investors in the Kingdom. Mr. Andrews noted that quality Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) services are one of the key international measures to determine the ease of doing business in any country. CEO Majed Al-Rasheed linked the SCCA’s services to the World Bank’s assessments and noted the Center’s contributions to attract local and foreign investors, a key component of the Saudi Vision 2030. The SCCA’s CEO Majed Alrasheed, Special Counsel James MacPherson and Business Development Manager Yaser Alorainy discussed the Center’s international standard arbitration and mediation services with Deputy Secretary Andrews’ delegation which included Senior International Policy Advisor Ryan Mulholland, Ms. Wendy Papakostandini and US Embassy Riyadh officials Douglas Wallace, Feleke Assefa, Douglas Apostle and Maher Siblini.
