4-day intensive course providing lawyers, mediators and other professionals interested in professional development focused on mediation skills development to enhance their knowledge, understanding and skills with a group of their peers taught by experts in the field of international ADR, most notably members of the SCCA and AAA/ICDR International Panel of Trainers and Mediators.

The program is specifically designed to provide a comprehensive immersion in the essential skills and knowledge required of all mediators.  Completing the course provides the foundational hours of introductory training for practicing mediators.

Through engaging dialogue, interactive exercises and simulated mediations facilitated (with constructive and useful feedback) by a faculty of experienced mediators, Participants will not only acquire vital knowledge about mediation theory, practice and techniques, but also begin developing the skills indispensable to be an effective mediator.

Final program assessment to qualify for SCCA’s Roster of Mediator application requirement.

Brief about the Trainer:

• He is an independent international arbitrator, mediator, licensed trainer, and is currently the Senior Advisor for International Arbitration and Mediation at the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Arbitration Centre (OIC-AC).
• He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb) London, an Accredited Mediator by the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR) London, a member of the Institute of World Business, which an affiliate of the Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Paris, and also, a member of the CIArb UAE Branch.
• He has been appointed as the Chairman, Sole Arbitrator or Party-Appointed Arbitrator in various domestic and international commercial disputes and is listed on the arbitrator rosters of leading arbitration institutions such as the ICC, DIAC, ADCCAC, ADGMAC, DIFC-LCIA, CRCICA and Tahkeem in disputes related to Technology, Media and Telecommunications Law, Construction & Real Estate, International Projects in Supply Chain Management, and Sales and Purchase Agreements.
• He has over 20 years’ experience in leading legal consultancies in capacity-building projects, including collaborative projects with governments, organizations and academia, in the fields of international commercial arbitration and alternative dispute resolution, to prepare, train, and qualify arbitrators, mediators, negotiators and leaders in the Gulf states and the Middle East.
• He is an accomplished writer and researcher in international commercial arbitration & mediation, dispute settlement, legal skills, and multi-doors justice. Additionally, he publishes a weekly article in the UAE local newspapers and is currently authoring a book in Arabic about ‘Commercial Mediation in the KSA’ which will be published shortly.
