Strengthening cooperation with the commercial arbitration community and setting up exchanges of knowledge and experience with major international arbitration centers, the Saudi Center for Commercial Arbitration (SCCA) announces that it has joined the International Federation of Commercial Arbitration Institutions (IFCAI), which includes the world’s top 52 international arbitration centers around the globe.

SCCA’s successful application to join IFCAI was formally confirmed in a letter from the IFCAI Council. Established in 1985 to bring together the top international arbitration centers involved in providing ADR services, IFCAI has become a highly respected international association. SCCA is at the forefront of Arab arbitration centers that are IFCAI members, which number no more than 8 out of 52 centers.

IFCAI aims to establish and maintain collegial working relationships between institutions in the industry, foster a broad exchange of knowledge and experience concerning international standards and best practices for arbitration, mediation, and other forms of ADR, and promote the latest services provided by IFCAI member centers.

SCCA joined IFCAI based on its mandated role as Saudi Arabia’s representative in international arbitration, and in its capacity as the national beacon for the ADR industry. SCCA membership in IFCAI will ensure harmonization with the highest standards and latest practices in the industry, and it will highlight to the world the progress achieved in Saudi Arabia toward establishing firm foundations for the ADR industry and promote the country as a safe arbitration seat and an attractive destination for international commercial arbitration cases.
