At its headquarters in Riyadh ... SCCA receives the Hong Kong Minister of Justice with an official delegation

At its headquarters in Riyadh, the Saudi Center for Commercial Arbitration (SCCA) received an official delegation from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government, headed by HKSAR Secretary for Justice Mr. Paul Lam and including Hong Kong government leaders and representatives from the legal community and the business sector.


The meeting was also attended by Ms. Alpha Lau, Director-General of Investment Promotion in Hong Kong (InvestHK); Mr. Damian Lee, Director-General of Hong Kong Economic and Trade Affairs; Dr. Patrick Lau, Deputy Executive Director of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council; Mr. C.M. Chan, President of the Law Society of Hong Kong; and Mr. Victor Dawes, President of the Bar Association. Altogether, among 29 figures, including official figures and representatives from international law firms, arbitral institutions, and legal organizations operating in Hong Kong.


During the meeting, the CEO of SCCA, Dr. Hamed Bin Hassan Merah, briefed the Secretary for Justice on possible opportunities for cooperation between the two parties. SCCA staff gave an introductory presentation on the latest developments and achievements of the arbitration industry in Saudi Arabia. They also introduced SCCA’s commercial dispute resolution services, which meet the needs of business owners in various segments and sectors and align with international best practices.


The CEO accompanied the visiting delegation on an introductory tour of SCCA’s facilities to learn about the latest technical and administrative equipment for managing arbitration and mediation cases and for the parties to hold hearings.


SCCA welcomed the delegation from its position as the leading institution in the Middle East and North Africa and an internationally influential arbitration institution.
