SCCA expands its cooperation with Jus Mundi to analyze Saudi judicial rulings related to arbitration
Published Date: 26/03/2024
Aiming to bolster efforts to spread knowledge about the Saudi arbitration industry, the Saudi Center for Commercial Arbitration announced the expansion of its partnership with the platform Jus Mundi to facilitate access to SCCA’s study and analysis of Saudi judicial rulings related to commercial arbitration.
This builds on the November 2022 cooperation agreement between the two parties to publish selected non-confidential arbitration materials and information held by SCCA and index it in the Jus Mundi database to make it searchable on the platform.
The expanded cooperation provides that the two parties will make more than a thousand judicial rulings related to commercial arbitration issued by the Saudi courts of appeal and Supreme Court available in English to the international legal community. Benefiting from the Jus Mundi database and relying on artificial intelligence technology and advanced research tools, this will facilitate the process of navigating court decisions and provide a deeper understanding of arbitration procedures.
Commenting on the expanded partnership between the two parties, SCCA CEO Dr. Hamed bin Hassan Merah said that with this step, SCCA aims to support efforts to disseminate knowledge about the Saudi arbitration industry, and in particular, its efforts related to the study, analysis, and translation of the Saudi judicial rulings related to commercial arbitration. This contributes to enhancing transparency, illustrating the judicial support for arbitration in Saudi Arabia, and reinforcing the predictability and effectiveness of the enforcement of arbitration awards.
Jus Mundi CEO Mr. Jean-Rémi de Maistre said the platform aims to ensure universal access to arbitration resources to promote global justice. We greatly appreciate the confidence of the Saudi Center for Commercial Arbitration in relying on our database for this important project, thus enabling global access to arbitration decisions relevant to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
